Castle visit mini album-CE daily

Hi everyone...
I'm here to share a Castle themed mini album I created as my design team project for Creative Embellishments, using the Bracket mini album from the Creative Embellishments store.. It was super easy to apply the paper to it, I just glued down a 6x6 piece of paper and then trimmed the edges with my craft knife.. Used a sanding brick to distress the edges..
This mini album will have photos of use from last summer as we (us and my in-laws) visited one of the oldest castles here in Finland.. You are welcome to roam the castle and see how people lived back in the day.. They have historians through the castle to tell you about a room or an event etc.. We had a great time..
Here is what I created:
for the cover, I used a distressed brick stencil and some home made texture paste (lots of videos on youtube on how to make your own texture paste) and I dried it using a heat tool, which created a bit of the crackle/bubbly look. I then distressed it a bit using distress ink, vintage photo and then rubbed it with silver inka gold paint.
For the chipboard elements, I painted those black and then rubbed silver Inka Gold on them, kind of like a rub-n-buff..
I added lots of chipboard goodies to the inside of my mini album so how about we check out the inside of the album:

and there we have it..
I just send my photos off to be printed and then I can choose which ones will have a permanent home in my album..
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my mini album..
Till next time
Hugs

CAT shaped word album

Hi everyone,I'm here to share a fun word album I created as my design team project for Creative Embellishments, using the Cat word album set in the Creative Embellishments store..
Here is the album I created:
This has to be one of the most fun I've had with an album in a long time.. I didn't have any cat themed papers so went with some fall themed instead and I used photos of my moms cat who has been living with since my passed away almost a year ago..
How about a few close ups and some details:
I used light blue Gelatos to color the cat shaped chippies and adhered them using foam tape.

I also used some of the cat themed wood veneer pieces to decorate my pages..  I added some tiny art stones to the cat food bowl to look like food, since he is always begging for food..
and on the right side, a photo of my husband holding the cat that never leaves him alone..LOL
I added a pocket to the left side of the album with photos of the cat sitting in a box next to my desk.
I highlighted my cat chippies with heart shaped chippies, flowers and orange colored fibers.
and for a tiny detail, I added a tiny bell.
and there you have my word album..
Thank you for stopping by today.. Till next time..
Hugs

Beach altered bottle for CE daily

Hi fellow scrappers.
I'm here to share a fun altered bottle I created as my design team project for Creative Embellishments for my bathroom decor.   I had this empty bottle just hanging around my craft room waiting to be played with and so, I decided it was finally time to make her pretty for my bathroom counter..

Here is the bottle I created:
I had some sea shells in my stash, which gave me a fun idea with a little help from youtube videos on how to alter items..
I started off by adding gesso to my bottle, added several coats, then attached some decorative mold pieces that I created using paper clay and silicone molds.  Using one of the frames from the "Square mini frames " set.. (totally in love with these, so much so that I actually have another project that I'm working on that I also used one those frames.. so versatile <3 ).. I framed one of the big sea shells I added and because my bathroom is beach themed, I had to add the BEACH word on the bottle :)

here is a close up of the bottle.. I also added a little corked vial by Tim Holtz, which I fill with little gold art glitter.. I added several colors of sprays to my bottle, green and blue with touches of yellow and black.. I also added some Rust paste and then dry brushed with white gesso.. I really wanted to create an old under the sea look.. Like the bottle had been laying on the bottom of the ocean for centuries :)
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you liked what I have created and that it inspires you to save an old empty bottle or two and get creative.. Till next time
