Nifty's Fifties die cut reveal-SOUS

What a fun way to start the weekend but to share a die cut project with you..  After playing around with some fun fifties style die cuts, I was finally able to create my very first fifties style layout.. I was actually able to get a little help from my hubby and that was with the choosing the car.. He's definitely a Chevy man and he's the one that told me I should do dual color on the car, meaning the top is different color than the bottom..
So, Here is my project:
Love these colors and I was so excited with ever die cut I added..

I found a vinyl record in the SIL store, cut it in half..

Loved the dice, even in pink..LOL you can see the liquid pearl accents and lots of layering with foam tape.

How about some film rolls and pink cherry's..LOL

and my absolutely favorite, the car.. 55 Chevy..
The front piece to the die cut car comes in one piece and I took the blade tool in the SIL software designer edition and cut the car in half long ways.. colored the top piece pink and the bottom piece a light blueish green.. Then pieced em together to the base (white piece)..

For supplies Used:

Silhouette Cameo
Silhouette Designer Edition software

White cardstock
Digital paper kit from: SweetShoppeDesigns
Free font: "Someone that I used to know!"
Canon printer

foam tape
inks
liquid pearls: white

wow.. I think that's about all of the supplies I used.. short list..LOL

Artist Printers Tray- DT reveal for Cutting Edge Designs

I've been dying to share this Artist Printers Tray I created as my first design project for CUTTING EDGE DESIGNS blog and I actually created the entire thing out of card stock..  How amazing is that?.. When I first got my Silhouette Cameo, I was so excited when I found some amazing 3D cutting files in the SIL store and this Printers Tray is definitely one of my favorites..
I decided to share with you on how to put one together once you have all of the pieces cut and ready for assembly.. and remember, since you are creating this out of card stock, you can make it any color you want.. I decided to stick with white and use color to embellish it.. so, here we go:
It really is nice and sturdy, plus I was able to attach it to my wall using double sided tape because it is light weight..

In this side view, you can see how nice and deep the boxes are.. great for 3D embellishments that you want sitting on the edge for example.
.
I went with an extra large branch that I put in the middle of the tray and then adding the title FAMILY to the middle of that..

lots of pretty flowers and butterflies that I also cut with the cameo, this way I was able to match the colors perfectly..

This is definitely a favorite quote of mine.. My family is definitely the greatest blessing in my life..

my little cloud scene with the fence..

and finally my cluster of flowers..and my son Aaron peeking through..LOL

and now, if you'd like to follow my instructions on how to create you own Printers tray, please stop by CUTTING EDGE DESIGNS.
We've got a great team of very talented ladies and we'll be posting projects that we've created using our Silhouette Cameo, so stop by often and get inspired..

I want to thank you  for stopping by today and checking out my first Design Team project for Cutting Edge Designs blog..
Hope everyone has a scrap-tastic week

For this weeks challenge we were asked to create a PL page using Twine.  I decided to use digital twine, by creating my PL pages using the Silhouette design edition software.. I love using digital papers and elements, then printing and cutting my cards with my Silhouette Cameo..
so, with that said here is my PL page for this week:

Die cut reveal-SUN-SOUS

Oh oh oh... I'm so happy happy happy its Friday.   First of all since I start my 4 week vacay today and secondly its die cut reveal for us girls over at SOUS.. I absolutely love our die cut challenges, since creating these fun projects gives me so much joy..
For this weeks die cut challenge, we were asked to use a SUN shape on our project.. After pondering on what type of project to create, I decided to put my SIL design software to good use and created this card.  Its a Styrofoam coffee cup shape with some fun summer elements decorating it..

I was able to create the shape card using the offset option in the SIL software.. You can create ANY shape card using this handy tool.. just offset your shape and then mirror to the left, merge it over so it touches the other offset image and weld.. super fun and soooooo easy..  and remember, if you have any questions on how I create any of my projects, please feel free to ask and I will be more than happy to help you create one for yourself.  You can email me, leave a comment with how I can reach you or find me on Facebook :)

Hows a few close ups:

laying flat on its back, like I'll be doing the next 4 weeks..LOL

you can see the layers here.. I once again used lots of foam tape and I inked all of the edges with various colors of distress inks..  adding drops of white liquid pearls for some detail.

Here you can see the sunflowers and leaves..

For supplies used to create this card:

White cardstock
digital papers from Sweetshoppedesigns

Silhouette Cameo
Silhouette Design Edition software

SIL store: all die cuts and phrase

Distress inks:
Bundled sage (green)
Dried Marigold (orange)
Fired Brick (red)
Tumbled Glass (blue)
