Summer Mini Album- Blog Hop July 29th

Happy hopping ladies and I certainly hope you have been inspired by the mini's you have seen so far.. You should of arrived here from Melisa Waldorf's blog !
The mini album I chose to work with is a 6x6 light weight chipboard mini.. You can check this out by clicking HERE..  There were lots of pages to work with and I also chose one page element and it was the film roll.. I  was only able to incorporate one onto my mini album because I chose so many different dye cuts to decoreate it with..

so, here is the mini I created for out hop:
The cover..
Since this mini is mainly of my boys, I wanted it to look masculine and fun.. there are no flowers in this mini..LOL (I can hardley believe it myself...LOL)

On these pages I have added the photos of us first leaving the dock.. we sat outside and watched the scenery.. It was a beautiful day out that day, but as always a bit windy on deck..LOL

the photo on the left is of my boys and my niece Kristiina.. then I have just photos of my boys that I took while we were on the cruise..

On the very top floor of the ship, was a play area for the kids.. they had a pirate theme Guitar Hero challenge going.. all the boys stood in line waiting for the chance to play.. This was the first time my boys had ever played Guitar Hero!!  these photos are of Aaron
and these are of Adam..

it got boring standing in line waiting for your turn.. so, I got lucky enough and snapped a funny photo of Adam pretending to be pouting and then some more of him playing..
and then finally some mixed matched photos that I really wasnt' sure what to do with it, but wanted to add them to the mini album anyway.. My mom is on the right and behind her photo is a pull out tag with a photo of Aaron on it playing...
Well ladies.. Thank you all so much for hopping on by.

.. remember to leave a comment and become a follower to be eligle for the fabulous candy give away ..
Which has been generously sponsored to us by: Creative Cuts and More.. All of our mini's were also sponsored to all of the girls by CCandM..

its a cute little mini album kit..  but to be eligable for the candy ,you have to become a follower and leave a comment!!
Good luck everyone!!

Birthday Invitation Tag

Well, what a nice way to spend a Thursday... I got a layout done today( for SOUS July 22nd post) and a birthday tag invite for my upcoming Birthday.. Dont' ask me how old I will be, cause you will make me into a very dishonest person..LOL
most of my friends and family have Facebook accounts so I was lucky enough to kill 100 birds with one stone sending invites out that way, but then I wanted to make an invitation for my one and only cousin, who doesn't do FB..
I didn't want your regular invite and being its not for a child, I decided to go all Tim Holtz and distress a big tag..

here is my invite:
The tag measures 4" x 7" and I cut it out of cream colored cardstock.. I firstly, took a phrase stamp by Tim Holtz and covered with embossing ink.. stamped all over the tag, then covered it with clear embossing powder and heat set..
then, started my inking.. Using my inking tool, first I used: Spun sugar, then Tattered Rose, Worn lipstick and finishing it off with Fired Brick... Once the pinks had all dried, I lightly rubbed it with Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo..
I torn a piece of paper from Graphic45's 8x8 Once Upon A Spring collection and distressed the edges with Rusty Hinge.. glued it down and then randomly stamped some flourish images on the sides and a few butterflies.. I used Worn Lipstick for the flourish and Rusty Hinge for the butterflies..

then glued down some lace and ribbon, added the flowers and leaves, feathers and finally did some computer generated text and cut them into small strips, which I distressed using Rusty Hinge.. glued them down and last but not least, added some fibers.. Whew!! it was so much fun to make these tags.. gonna make more as soon as I catch my breath...LOL
here are a few close ups:

the text says (for those of you who don't read finnish..LOL)  Come Celebrate Nannés 40th Birthday, Saturday August 6th, starting at 5pm.. I have to work that day, but I'm sure I can get a party started in no time..LOL

Future Domestic Goddess-Whimsical Wednesday Reveal

Its reveal day again over Whimsical Wednesdays and this challenge was to make a layout of our own choice, and the theme is : "Some Interactive Fun"  and so, the layout  has to have movement on it.. I actually had a completely different layout design in mind, spent all day Sunday designing it on my Cricut DS and then my computer crashed...Aaaaaaaaaargh!!..so, had to come up with plan #2.. LOL
Almost in sheer panic, I quickly went through my papers and found this cute Domestic Goddess stack by Graphic45 and I knew I had the perfect photo to go with these papers..
I desided to create a big journaling tag that pulls out from behind the photo matt..
Here is a photo of the tag as it looks pulled out.. I actually journaled on the tag, which is so rare for me.. Not much for journaling since my mind goes blank as soon as I grab the pen..LOL

I used my Cricut Imagine to cut my cricut cuts with since I felt it was easier to use without the DS, having that virtual mat really helps see the size of the cuts before cutting and I never scrap without my DS just for that reason, having the virtual matt..

here are a few close ups:
